For this version of the course, we have elected to keep the 2006 edition of eTextbook. There are two reasons for this: a) we reviewed other eTextbooks available, and concluded that this eTextbook is still the best choice for the course; b) most importantly, the material covered in the eTextbook and the knowledge and skills you will learn from it are still valid and applicable in the game industry.
Although the eTextbook provides most reading materials you need to complete this course, you are encouraged, and sometimes required, to read materials from other sources, including articles and tutorials on the Internet or other eTextbooks. Don’t expect to find all the pieces you need to comprehend a topic, to answer a question, or to solve a problem. It will not be unusual if you go beyond the eTextbook or even the study guide of the course—that is the life of a university student. If you find something covered better on a topic or topics, please post the link to the course forum with your comments. As it develops, the forum will become an increasingly valuable place to find new information, help, and support.
